The P99 "Her Majesty's Secret Intelligence Service (MI-6)" James Bond Commemorative ModelsThe original Series "Her Majesty's Secret Intelligence Service (MI-6)" P99 Commemorative was never officially announced nor shown on Walther's German website, and it was exclusively imported by Earl's Repair Service in Tewksbury, MA in the latter part of 1999. He's a bit elusive on the actual numbers he imported, he would only tell me "lots". At the time I bought mine, in November 1999, he had told me there were mostly 9mms, with only 40 or so of the .40S&W versions brought in. He was selling the 9mm version for $1095 which included two of his "pre-ban" 16 round magazines. He sold the .40S&W for $1195 which included two of his "pre-ban" 12 round magazines. I have heard from other sources that there were about 350 of the 9mms imported by Earl. These are very rare and hard to find. I have yet to see one for sale on any of the common gun sales boards. The Series II James Bond edition, as originally listed on Walther's German Website was quickly withdrawn, and none were ever for sale in the USA. I don't know if they were ever sold in Europe. The story from Earl is that these were taken off the market due to a licensing disagreement with United Artists and the James Bond license holders. Earl has a few of them, but won't sell them. Interestingly enough, at least 3 of them have popped up for sale on www.gunsamerica.com and www.gunbroker.com in the past couple of years. Unfortunately, they were all .40S&W versions, and I bought 2 of them, and ended up trading one of them (stupidly - I should have kept it). These offered were being sold at $645-$795, which is an excellent price to collectors taking into account that there are very few in circulation. These WERE imported by Interarms, so there's no telling how many actually made it into collector's hands. Original Walther Germany Page for P99 JB II Limited Edition
